Our Story:

     In 1990 our family became hooked on taste testing chocolate. It began with a large gathering of friends and co-workers, where, over the course of 18 months, we bought, taste-tested, and meticulously rated every brand of chocolate ice cream sold in the state of Utah (there were 45 at the time), then we branched out to traveling and testing on both coasts, and finally were hired by an investment bank in San Diego, who owns an ice cream company, to taste-test the best ice creams made in America and to develop the best way to manufacture it.

     We flew in dozens of brands on dry ice – mainly the gourmet, "super-premium" stuff. We updated our tests over the years, at a cost to ourselves of well over $10,000, and as recently as 2003 tested practically every brand of super premium ice cream made in America – several dozen new ones added to the ones from before.

     Along the way we tested gourmet chocolates – boxed chocolates – the finest in the U.S., traveling around the U.S. scouring small towns and country chocolate factories.  We also fully researched chocolate bars – the best Europe has to offer – testing dozens and dozens of brands.

     In the process we learned about the manufacturing of the very finest chocolate - the percentages of cocoa mass and cocoa butter and the best sources for chocolate.  We learned which 4 of Belgium's 30 chocolate manufacturers are the best!

     We know chocolate. And with the addition of chocolate fountains to our family business, we are having a blast!

   From our research, we have formulated our very own family recipe – we think the finest you will find – based on 15 years of experience!

     We use the best brands of  Belgian chocolate ( the very best of the best!) for our "Belgian Super Premium Chocolate." ( Some who haven't tasted it might say, "No big deal," but the subtleties will knock your socks off!) 

    We also use a delicious French chocolate for our less expensive, but superb, "French Premium Chocolate."

 
   Both are available in milk, dark, and white chocolate.  You can't go wrong with either option!

Note: The chocolate fountain packages below include FREE "French Premium Chocolate" for 250-350 guests (25 lbs.) This is a wonderful-tasting compound chocolate – which is vegetable-oil based. We also offer, for a nominal cost, our "Belgian Super Premium Chocolate" - the world’s best chocolate that is pure chocolate with cocoa butter instead of vegetable oil.

The tell-tale sign of whether you are getting great, cocoa-butter based pure chocolate vs. regular, vegetable oil based compound chocolate is the AROMA. High-grade pure chocolate (which uses real cocoa butter) sends out a strong, sweet aroma, filling any large room, whereas vegetable-oil based chocolate, such as the "French Premium Chocolate", absorbs the aroma. The difference in the taste is also substantial, but "French Premium Chocolate" still tastes fabulous. When you are at any event, you will know the difference and can tell what type of chocolate they are using simply by detecting any aroma!

Some fountain providers may claim they use pure chocolate when they are not. It’s easy for you to tell as explained above. If you are promised pure chocolate by another fountain provider, we strongly recommend you have them state that in their contract, because if, at your event, you cannot smell it strongly, you will know they substituted less quality compound chocolate – and then you can demand a refund. (Also, mixing pure chocolate with compound chocolate is a short-cut others take, but the vegetable oil in compound chocolate still absorbs all the aroma!) If you want pure chocolate go for the real stuff. Go for the best. We provide the very best on earth. Note 1:  We have 4 sizes of fountains.  Party fountains serve up to 50 guests, small fountains serve up to 120 guests, medium fountains serve over 120 guests, and large fountains serve over 160 guests. All have industry standard, stainless steel components with rugged motors for commercial use.

Note 2:  All packages include unlimited FREE wooden skewers for all guests!

Note 3:  There is no such thing as stain-free, high quality pure chocolate that solidifies before it splashes somewhere. That would be, by the laws of physics and chemistry, simply impossible, because high quality pure chocolate must use cocoa butter, which does not solidify quickly and does stain. Also, hardening agents in chocolate tend to taste waxy, but most importantly, hardening agents cannot help but take away from the taste of high quality chocolate because they are OUTSIDE AGENTS THAT ARE NOT AN INHERENT INGREDIENT to chocolate.  In short, hardening agents, while in some cases “natural ingredients,” are not part of the natural formula of chocolate, so they dilute the flavor substantially.

Hardening agents generally also act as a “glue” that can cause your guests’ fruit to “stick” to their plates.  If you want great chocolate, use the real stuff – either pure chocolate or high quality traditional compound chocolate.  Our attendants can serve you chocolate that is as close to "splash free" as anyone, anywhere. 

Note 4:  Also, be careful of “bait & switch,” where other fountain providers may show you a sample -- such as at a bridal fair -- then switch to a different, cheaper quality chocolate at your event.  The final test for superior chocolate at your event is the strong aroma, thin texture, and gourmet-quality taste! 

For packages 2 – 3 we will:  

 -- deliver, set-up, monitor chocolate levels, constantly clean table area, take down fountain, clean it and take it with us!

We specialize in flavored chocolate including our favorites - raspberry, mint and orange! 

(We go all-out on flavored chocolate.  While most fountain providers use cheap flavorings - at less than $15 per bottle - we pay over $100 per bottle for the world’s highest quality real-juice extracts.  And the difference will show when your guests taste and savor “the world’s finest flavored chocolate.”)

We can color (and flavor) the white chocolate to fit your party’s theme or color scheme - such as  mint green for St. Patrick's Day, yummy orange-flavored chocolate for Halloween, or raspberry-flavored red for Christmas!

Terms:

You provide:

1. The completed  "Price List /Order Form" as part of the contract 

2. Close proximity to a garbage can for your guests

3. One hour of access to the site for set up and one hour for clean up and disassembly afterwards

4. A sturdy table to support 130 lbs., for each fountain, preferably 8 or 10 feet long for a rectangular table (or at least 5 feet in diameter for a round table).  However, we can usually make do with smaller if you use only one fountain.  (Two fountains with chocolate and dipping items could weigh 260 lbs, so a "two-fountain-table" must be able to support at least 260 lbs.)

5.  A $100 deposit.  This is required when reservations are made.    The balance is due 14 days before your event.

Miscellaneous:

1. On the "Price List /Order Form" you should estimate the number of guests. (We will bring extra chocolate in case more guests arrive.)

3.   In the event that AAA Chocolate Fountains of Utah  (the vender) provides "dipping food items, " all left-over dipping food items will be considered unpaid/unused property of the vender, and the vender will take "dipping food items" with them.
 
4.   AAA Chocolate Fountains of Utah will not be liable for any claims potentially brought against it by dissatisfied guests or clients regarding splashing of chocolate, punch, or other food items on clothes or other items, or injury or illness that anyone may claim.  Customer and guests are solely liable, and customer accepts that libility by signing below. 
 
5.    If you choose the self-rental package, you are solely responsible for damages to the fountain during the time it is in your possession, and agree to pay for any damages.
 
6.     At AAA Chocolate Fountains of Utah we pride ourselves at being punctual.  Rarely, however, an attendant might have difficulty finding your location or may be delayed by unforseen backed-up traffic, etc.   In the event our attendant(s) are late in setting up by your scheduled time, you will receive a pro-rated discount. Do I have to set up, take down and clean the Chocolate

Fountain?

 

At AAA Chocolate Fountains , we do all the work for you,

so you can relax and enjoy your special event.  Included

with all of our Fountain Rentals is an on-site fountain

attendant, who will set up the fountain, serve your guests,

and ensure that everything runs smoothly with your event

and the fountain.

 

How long can I have the Chocolate Fountain at my event?

 

Included with all of our Fountain Rentals is Three (3) hours

of enjoyment of the Chocolate Fountain.  This is more than

enough time for most events; however, if you would like

us to stay longer, we can always add additional time on an

as-needed basis.

 

What dipping items can be used with the Fountain?

 

Some of our most popular dipping items include Straw-

berries, Bananas, Marshmallows, Pretzels, Pound Cake,

Butter Cookies, Dried Fruit...the possibilities are endless!

Who provides the dipping items?

 

Many clients don't want the extra worry of having to bring

their own dipping items.  Because of this,  AAA Chocolate

Fountains can provide the Chocolate Fountain as well as

the dipping items.  You simply tell us which dipping items

you'd like to have and we'll bring them.   Also, we always

bring more than enough, so you never have to worry about

running out of a particular dipping item.  However, if you

would like to provide your own dipping items, that is fine

too.  And we will always take care of creating a beautiful

display regardless of who provides the dipping items.

 

What are the table and electrical requirements for the Chocolate Fountain?

 

Since the Chocolate Fountains with chocolate and Food

Dipping Items weigh almost 130 pounds when full, a level,

sturdy table is a must. If it is not level, the chocolate will

not flow properly. Your event location should provide two

table linens that will coordinate with your color scheme.

We will also bring our table cloths.  The Chocolate Fountain

requires a 120 volt grounded electrical outlet 

(a three-pronged plug) within 15 feet of the set-up location.

What areas does AAA Chocolate Fountains service?

AAA Chocolate Fountains provides fountains for events

almost anywhere in Utah, southern Idaho, and southwest

Wyoming. 

 

Can the Chocolate Fountain be used outdoors?

 

You can with some precautions.  (1) the outside

temperature has to be warm (because the chocolate

has to flow properly).  The rule of thumb is - if people

do not have to wear sweaters, the temperature is okay; 

(2) no wind can reach the fountain (because chocolate

can lose its even flow and can splatter on people); (3)

no critters can reach it (as they are drawn by the

incredible aroma).   If  you have a way to enclose the

fountain, that will work better.

 

Are reservations and a deposit required?

 

Yes, we require a reservation, a signed contract and a

$100 deposit at the time of booking. Reservations are

limited and are on a first come first serve basis. The

balance of your payment is due at least 14 days prior

to the scheduled date of your event.

 

Can I use the chocolate fountain in place of the wedding cake?

 

Many brides nationwide are choosing to move away from

the norm - they are replacing their wedding cakes with

chocolate fountains.  Their guests have not been disapointed!

 

Is chocolate nutritious? 

 

The facts are laid out by the American Dietetic Association

and National Center for Nutrition & Dietetics:

 

   1)  Chocolate contains oleic acid, which is beneficial to

heart health.  Oleic acid, a nonnsaturated fat also found in

olive oil - the healthiest of all oils - makes up 1/3 of the fat

in chocolate.  True, it has some saturated fats, but not all

types of saturated fats raise blood cholesterol levels. 

Stearic acid, which makes up 1/3 of the fat in chocolate,

does not raise blood cholesterol levels. That leaves 1/3

of the fat in chocolate that does; but overall, the fat in

chocolate is still much safer than the fat in most other

treats.   Putting things in perspective, chocolate contributes

LESS than 2% of the fat in the average American diet.  The

main sources of fat are meat, dairy, and fried foods.

   2)  Does chocolate have antioxidents to improve health?

   It contains antioxidants called polyphenols, which are

being studied for their potential health benefits.  Chocolate

comes from the "Theobroma cacao" tree, and thus has

many of the same healthy compounds of other plants,

including copper, zinc, iron, and magnesium.

   3)  Why is chocolate safer to use than some other treats

for our dental health?  Chocolate clears the mouth fairly

quickly, reducing the time it spends in contact with the teeth.

Does it cause cavities?  No, cavities are caused by carbo-

hydrates mixed with bacteria, which creates acid in the mouth.  Chocolate, which contains carbohydrates, is no more or less

responsible for cavities than any other carbohyrates - like

bread, raisins, crackers, and fruit.

   4)  Is it true chocolate has very little caffine?  Yes!   An 8 oz.

cup of hot cocoa contains only 6 mg of caffine.   The same

amount of cola beverages contain 25 to 31 mg of caffine, while

the same amount of coffee contains 87 to 200 mg.     

   5) The greatest benefit of chocolate, of course, is the taste.

The exciting smells and sight of a chocolate fountain at your

event, coupled with our remarkable recipe, will leave your

guests talking about your event for months!
